With this and The Boondocks returning for a 4th season, although a specific date hasn't been given yet, Adult Swim will become the choice TV location to go to for black anime for adults.

Black Dynamitebased on the cult 2009 feature film by Scott Sanders, starring Michael Jai White, will begin airing on Adult Swim on July 8th, about 3 weeks from now, at 11:30PM.

As you may recall, the pilot episode played exclusively on last year.

Carl Jones, a member of the creative team behind the The Boondocks is behind the project, which "further chronicles the exploits of the central character, ex-CIA agent and full-time ladies man Black Dynamite, and his crew as they avenge the death of Black Dynamite's brother against kung-fu masters, drug-dealing pimps and The Man and his crew."

In addition to Jai White, listen for the voices belonging to Eddie GriffinTommy DavidsonKym Whitley and Byron Minns.

This should be fun!

A slightly racier new trailer for the upcoming series surfaced earlier today, and I embedded in below, so watch (if it doesn't play, click HERE to watch it on EW's website):

Okay, I'm definitely gonna check this out.

I don't know if you're aware of this online comic, but the award winning creator Jay Potts has been seriously on the 70s blaxpoitation with his artistic skills and his vivid storylines for a few years.

There are a number of webcomics featuring black protags out there.

Why do black superheroes have to have the word black in their names? Is this supposed to be better than what Hollywood is doing for us in terms of representation? "full-time ladies man" "drug-dealing pimps" and all.
