It's Friday... no news as usual. So how about a short and a survey?
This one's a provocative piece that I'm curious to read your reactions to.
In short, the filmmakers describe it as follows:
A found footage style 15 minute thriller, "Details" follows the lives of a 'friendly' stalker that finds his prey by means of social networking and his next victim who has no idea she has already been caught in his 'web.' Pay attention, because as they say "the devil is in the Details.."
I'll say no more, except to just present the film and let you take it in and decide; here ya go:

I love how 'found-footage' (if done right) compels the viewer to anticipate the next thing and continually have you on edge. After watching the first 4 minutes I couldn't continue because it just had that creep factor. Even though it is a familiar story line, it stands on it's own. I loved it, I'm sharing it with all of my people on facebook.

I thought it was great! Especially for a 48 hour film. I thought the creepiness level was high enough. I thought the affection between Cammie and her brother made her sympathetic. I thought the stalker/killer was smartly done.
As a film writer myself, I often wonder why people feel the need to suggest how YOUR vision could have been done better by inserting their own. I thought the filmmakers expression was clear and he told the story he wanted to tell.
Great flic! It's on my Facebook page. Good luck with more views!!!

Thanks for the views. I'm always surprised by the love we get! Bats really did create a an interesting character! Thompson even with that approach I like our end result. Especially with the end of the film where Cameron walks into her own death. It's a stark difference between the first two girls. If she had peeped the details, she would have been noticed him. What is itthat Knives said to Vash, "[sometimes] you gotta kill the spiders to save the butterflies.."

Not bad for a 48 Film Project entry. That said... the story didn't move me. Even short films need character arcs and definite structure. This film lacks both, I feel, which prevents it from truly resonating. I'd rather have liked to see the film begin with a final girl who's been abducted by the stalker. She's watching spliced-together footage of other girls and realizes he intends to add her to his snuff collection. Have her turn the tables on him (3rd act resolution) and end the film with the found f0otage where she kills him -- predator and prey trading places. Anyway, that's how I'd have done it. But like I said, a good effort against that kind of deadline.

Creepy and revealing. I would say that the main character is more of a psychopath killer than a stalker though.
