Watch - Showtime Releases Promo For Larry Wilmore's 'Race, Religion & Sex'

As was announced in February, funnyman Larry Wilmore (known most as The Daily Show's "Senior Black Correspondent") has a few new TV projects on the horizon.

The one that's a definite is a comedy special (which could be a launching pad for a full series) for the Showtime cable TV network, which was picked up finally last month.

Larry Wilmore’s Race, Religion & Sex will be a one-hour comedy special shot in Salt Lake City, Utah, in front of a live audience, and starring Wilmore of course, in which he explores issues dealing with race, religion and sex through comedy, satire and political commentary. 

Showtime is said to have ordered just 1 special for now, with word being that it could potentially become a series - likely depending on how well the first one does with audiences.

The hour-long Race, Religion & Sex will air on August 25

With Wilmore, W. Kamau Bell, and Key & Peele, all tackling similar themes on different shows on different networks, it should make for an entertaining election season this fall.
