Season 2 of Shonda Rhimes' popular Scandal series, starring Kerry Washington, premieres on September 27 (exactly 2 weeks from today), with a few changes, like Norm Lewis signing up for a recurring role as Olivia Pope's ex-boyfriend, Elise Neal will play an attorney with secrets, Joshua Malina has been promoted to series regular, Henry Ian Cusick not returning to the hit ABC drama for Season 2, secrets will be revealed (some bigger than others), and more.

And when season 2 starts, you can bet that we'll pick up with our Scandal talkback sessions right where we left off last season.

In the meantime, in what I'm sure will be a few clips released ahead of season 2, episode 1, here's the first, which suggests that Fitz isn't entirely out of the picture for season 2, despite what seemed like Olivia saying goodbye to that world entirely, in the season finale of season 2; watch (by the way, Scandal season 1 is now available to watch instantly on Netflix):

Can Idris make a guest turn and give ol' Fitz a run for his money? Get this black woman a black man, Shonda, STAT!

He will hang himself for sure...one can't get away with such deviance.

Fitz will always be in the picture.

Unless he gets assassinated. With all the murder, intrigue, and general craycray amongst this group, I wouldn't be surprised. Matter of fact, I'll be shocked if there ISN'T an attack on his life by the end of the season.

Hope so... His and Olivia's through line is a must.
