Stories and knowledge from the *western* front, where all isn't necessarily quiet. Some really good, interesting stuff here, I found.
For all you out there (especially writers) chasing Hollywood dreams (or if you just want some insider knowledge on how the industry works when it comes to packaing your film project), you should appreciate this recent 100-minute panel discussion, brought to you by the WGAW Writers Education Committee, titled Check Out My Package: Making Your Film Project Irresistible.
Moderated by Billy Ray (co-writer, The Hunger Games), the panelists include Erik Feig of Summit Entertainment/Lionsgate, manager David Greenblatt, Randi Hiller (VP of Casting at Walt Disney Studios), Kevin McCormick (producer, and former Warner Bros. Pres.ident of Production), and agent Graham Taylor from William Morris Endeavor (WME).
In the video, which was recorded in May this year, and uploaded just yesterday, they discuss how to be in the driver's seat when packaging your film project.
Watch and hopefully be enlightened:
