Here's an excerpt of renowned director Spike Lee giving a master class on directing at the American Black Film Festival in 2010.

This may be the "pick me up" some of you filmmakers need today to go out and make it happen! He comments on learning the craft, the real reason he went to film school and having to work ten times harder than his white classmates. .

    His words are so true. I see so many geniuses in the black community and the biggest hurdle to their success is OUTPUT. The person that becomes the most well-known is the one who puts out the most work, good or bad. OUTPUT, OUTPUT, OUTPUT!
