Oops! Mean't to say "ever progress in this white-wash industry?"

this looks like an amazing movie...like Valentine's Day BUT GOOD!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited to see Oscar Isaac in it.

    @ Carlton Jordan

I so agree! Take a look at "Half Nelson" after that Ryan Gosling has been everywhere since then getting mad respect!

"Blue Valentine" Oscar nom! He is currently, promoting "Drive" and the "Idles of March" at various fests this year! I smell an Oscar nom for this year!

C'mon Mackie where you at? I can't believe such a talented, handsome actor like himself w/ enormous amount of training from one of the most prestigious theatre schools (Juilliard) can't get the recognition that he deserves!

Oh boy oh boy will AA actors every progress in this white-wash industry?

Over Mackie and his side kick roles...hes all militant when it comes to saying what Black people need to do....but doesnt demand better material for himself for mainstream....everyone hes worked with has gone on to become big stars,

It is obvious from this clip that Mackie is indeed one of many BFFs in a bro-rem of dudes around the male lead. Rosario aka "Ms. Take Your Role" is doing what she does best---make the film complicated in a predictable yet highly anticipated way....If Zoe & Rosario keep working, Halle Berry might have to start playing Ruby Dee & Cicely Tyson parts--LOL!!!!!

“I hope Anthony Mackie has a role in this film and not some BFF role”

“i was just thinking the same thing. I hope he actually has a role with his own storyline, not just some follow person”

“you guys are asking for a lot—- damn! With all these actors listed in this movie and with that group picture you actually think this movie’s going to/supposed to only revolve around him?!”

Tell me about it Mantaan. Asking too much for sure, and I don’t know why things are going to change now? I mean, the formula of pimpin’ black folks is working real good. Put a black face in a movie, in any menial role, i.e., BBF, or flip flop girl and lord have mercy, that actor might appear in a black history month commercial and get a special achievement award.

But seriously, by the makeup of this graduation class, you might not want Anthony Mackie’s character to say a damn thing. Well, aside from the neighborhood they came from, Anthony is still getting along with them, so he’s either going to be the dope man with that funky green, or the suck-butt-get-along negro who's the fall guy for racial jokes, or the coolest-hippest-slick talking dude, that knows how to catch all the women. Come on now...

Hey, my high school class graduation was over 700 students, mostly whites. I’ve never once wanted to go back and hang out. So again, no-no-no, I’d rather go to racial rehab and anger management before I pay a dime to see this movie - just because a black face is in it.
