First time hearing about this flick... on the surface, just looking at its cast, I'd definitely sit up and pay attention; but, looking at the trailer below, don't know what to make of it.

Chi McBride, Evan Ross and Shad "Bow Wow" Moss co-star (as an aside, based on the trailer below, it seems like Bow Wow has begun to make the transition from "Bow Wow" to "Shad Moss;" he's in that in-between stage where you combine your real and "stage" name. Soon he'll drop the "Bow Wow" altogether, and we'll know his as Shad Moss :)

The rest of the cast includes Dermot Mulroney, Hope Davis, Selma Blair, Keith Carradine, Gabrielle Anwar, Evan Ross, Christina Hendricks, Jane Seymour, and Rachel Leigh Cook.

Like I said, decent cast there overall.

Synopsis reads:

Life in suburban Serenity, Ohio is never quite as serene as it appears. The dysfunctional Burnett family – Bunnie (Hope Davis), Jack (Dermot Mulroney) and their twin 17 year olds Eric (Max Thieriot) and Kelly (Britt Robertson) – seems like a lost cause. When a freak accident leaves Bunnie with a case of amnesia, the Burnetts get an unexpected second chance at happiness. Meanwhile, next door neighbor Simon (Chi McBride) is relieved that his tryst gone wrong with Bunnie remains undetected, at least for the moment. Before long, a slew of past relationships, kids with guns, a suicidal teacher, a very zealous religious club, misinterpreted advances, corporate down-sizing, and one fateful squirrel combine to create enough mayhem to test the resolve, sanity and future of any family!

The film will be released in theaters August 26, 2011.

@Vanessa, ok i see what you're saying now.

i didn't look at it like that earlier, i guess i just looked at it like they were role playing, he was a burglar and he was bout to get the "booty".

but i guess when you're black you can't role play in a movie and be a burglar especially if the person you're robbing/sexing is white woman....hmmmnn...damn it's got to be hard to be a black actor nowadays....lolol....

I'm sorry I didn't get the neighbor posing as the "funny" robber, lusting after the white woman and then saying "Hammer time!" But I guess it's just me. *shrugs*

Maybe I'm being too sensitive and seeing too much into it. He wasn't a real robber right?? they're attracted to each other, not like he raped her, even though it looked like he broke in...playfully. :-/

ok I'm going to bed. :)

I always confuse Dermot Mulroney with Dylan McDermott.

This film was supposed to come up a couple of years back. I assumed it was going straight to DVD after all the delays.

"but i guess when you’re black you can’t role play in a movie and be a burglar especially if the person you’re robbing/sexing is white woman….hmmmnn…damn it’s got to be hard to be a black actor nowadays….lolol…."

For me, it was the moment he said "Hammertime" the scene went from being potentially funny to stereotypical.

Hammertime? Really? Maybe I'm missing something, or brothas do say crap like when they're with white women. lol

or do you guys like it when she say "You know you're my n*gga" Haha

    this actually looks pretty interesting.

i wish you guys would say you what your problem is with the film instead of saying "you already know what i'm thinking..." ---- because no, some of us don't know what you're thinking, lololol...so speak on it!!

I have a few issues with the trailer and being a regular on this site, they shouldn't be hard to figure out.

I'm not even going to say it. You already know.
