This short shout comes from NYU alum, Ms J.J. Stone, featuring the talents of names you should be familiar with, given that we've written about them previously on this site - Adepero Oduye (Pariah), Anslem Richardson (Five Deep Breaths, The Locksmith); and cinematographer extraordinaire Bradford Young (Pariah, Restless City, Middle Of Nowhere).

Zipporah, a sister in a religious order, is dealing with a secret about her desire for something she has never experienced -- erotic love. When Luca, the nephew of the Mother Superior, seeks refuge at the convent after deserting the army, Zipporah engages in an intimate relationship with him that will change the course of her life.

Great film, I enjoyed the content, acting and especially the entire all black cast. Keep up the good work, I look forward to watching future movies.

A wonderfully sensuous film, WITH black people! Something you don’t get to see that often...ever?

Reminds me of Powell's Black Narcissus. Great look.

Before viewing the film, after having only read the summary and comments, I did NOT place this film inside the US. Looking at the image above made me think, foreign country, or Africa...but not the US of A.

Love the use of color, as well as so many other things. This was a different tale, beautifully done. I love it.

very nice! made me yearn for more. The lead girl (Adepero Oduye) reminded me of a young Whoopi Goldberg in " The Color Purple".

Great short. Love the subtleties and drama. I wish all black cinema could be of this standard. Would love to see them run off together. That opening shot is classic!
