No, there's nobody black in it (at least not in any of the starring roles), but I generally like Steven Soderbergh's work, and this is maybe one of the more intriguing films he's done. I don't think of him as an action-director, and this looks like an action movie - at least, from the trailer I embedded below. We all know that trailers do lie sometimes. For all we know, this could be some Ingmar Bergman-style meditative piece on life and death... but probably not! :)

I'm curious to see what Soderbergh does with the material, and the cast is certainly nothing to sneeze at: Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas, and introducing Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) superstar Gina Carano in her feature film debut.

A preview of the film was screened at Comic-Con (going on right now), which reportedly wowed audiences; and the first full trailer has surfaced, which you can watch below. Haywire will in theaters next January:

Why her??? Her acting abilties makes the film look cheesy.

Steven Soderbergh has a 'look' to his features. What is it called? Hmm. Google can be my friend. Something in the film, the lenses, etc.

Aside from that Channing in that opening sequence was giving me all kinds of Mark Wahlberg in tone/monotone.

I didn't really pay much attention to anyone else once Fassbender came on the screen. *SWOON* That man!

This looks like something I'd definitely rent or watch VOD.

I like Steven Soderbergh’s work too.. I thought he was at his best stuff with films like THE LIMEY and Out of Sight. This film/trailer looks a little b- moviish, but, I'll see this, and the cast looks pretty solid.. Cheers!

She's not a star. No sex appeal at all. Way too butch for my taste. Vivica Fox did better in Kill Bill and Carrie Ann Moss killed it in the Matrix and they aren't even martial artists. The action looks great though. Maybe when it comes out on dvd I will scan through to the action sequences. Would love to see the beautiful Laila Ali in something like this. Channing Tatum got p'owned!!! It's amazing that Steven Soderburgh could get all those stars in for his "experimental" action film. He should have stayed retired.

I had low expectations for this film since I had seen Gia Carano and Ewan McGregor in wetsuits fighting on a beach shore.

It just seemed cheesy from the stills. Also, because it's been released in January.

Great cast though and interesting trailer. Hmm
