  Secret to Skyfall's success is one master director named Sam Mendes. He elevated the Bond film from cheese to quality filmmaking. Javier Bardem too brought his A game as a villain to rival any from The Dark Knight series.

  I've never understand why people dislike Solace so much. I thought it was a pretty solid Bond film. (It's a hell of lot better than Die Another Day, View to A kill and Man with the Golden Gun to name a few bad Bond films) I look at Solace as the second half of Royale since it starts off practically five minutes after it

  I disagree, I think that the bar was set so low after Quantum of Solace, that people are just happy to see, and happily accept, a half decent Bond film. If you want to talk about his "homage" to Nolan with the heavy theme and back-story, then surely you must also give credit to Hannibal Smith, BA Baracus and the A-team ending.

  But also gave credit to Alexander Witt the second unit director who handled most of action sequences in Skyfall (like he did also on Casino Royale) The guy is simple great at directing action scenes
