I hope that the $139 million that sparkly vampire movie (you know what I'm talking about) made this weekend is not a sign that manhood is in serious trouble.

I'm assuming that the only guys who saw the film this weekend are the weak whipped guys who were dragged to see it by their girlfreinds.

But men don't despair, though you'll have to wait a while - The Expendables 2 is coming out August 2012.

Meanwhile Happy Feet 2 was a very distant second, and The Immortals dropped big over 60%.

Tower Heist is hanging in there, but will soon be running on fumes.

    who writes this crap??

  • Tamara | November 22, 2011 10:32 AM

Stephanie Meyer. And it is pretty terrible. I had an advanced copy of the first book years ago given to me and I didn't make it past the third page.

I tried watching the first in the series, at a friend's suggestion and it was terrible, too. Had potential to be a good film, but ultimately the story fell short, for me. I was told the book is better than the movie (usually the case) and considering the book in those three pages I read wasn't good, that's not saying whole lot.

I never got twilight while I'm sure the 12 year old and me would be jumping for joy at the thought of the series I don't feel the need to spend my money on it as an adult. I did take my little brothers to see Happy Feet. Bidding my time until Shame premieres in Atlanta.

biding* I don't think Twilight is to blame for the decline in "real" me on the movie screen. I also think people don't need the action heros that were so prevalent in movies of the past either. Is there a happy medium?

I don't know that is says that much about manhood but it certainly gives some bloggers reason to be overly dramatic. One weekend is dominated by teenage girls instead of teenage boys. Oh no it's the the end of the male sex. How about we rue the severe lack of complex adult entertainment on this list.

    Who needs reality, women don't!

  • Ash | November 20, 2011 5:05 PM

I'm a female. Had to laugh at that though.

Silly boys, you know men when it comes to Twilight, they become such little babies! I love the Twilight series! Breaking Dawn - Part 1 was amazing! Oh, God, the only thing that's going through my head to describe this movie, it's like sex with an orgasm at the end of it!

  • Trish Jameson | November 20, 2011 12:59 PMReply

Yes! Yes! Yes! OMG, Breaking Dawn - Part 1 is absolutely incredible! I can’t wait for Part 2! MORE MORE MORE!!!! Don't ever stop making Twilight movies! They've never been better...never! Never better! Woooo! :)
