Of course, the big news around here is that Tyler Perry's latest offering, Madea's Big Happy Family, opened in second place, with a $25+ million box office take, which is right in line with his average, so just about what I expected.

Of the 9 films he's directed, 6 opened in the $20 million to $25 million range, 1 opened below $20 million, 1 opened at around $30 million, and the last, his highest grossing film today, Madea Goes To Jail, opened at about $41 million, for an average of about $25 million.

It's anyone's guess as to how much it will make total; though, I expect a significant drop-off in successive weeks, which is common for Tyler Perry's films.

I'm disappointed in Scream 4's box office take, I expected it to do much better.
