First tweeted by Gitesh Pandya of Boxofficeguru and confirmed by RopeOfSilicon, Tarantino’s slavery vengeance tale “Django Unchained” has been set by The Weinstein Company for a Christmas Day 2012 release.

Well, Merry Christmas to you too! Though it does seem like a long time away doesn't it? So much could happen between now and December 2012; for example, 2 Tyler Perry movies would have been released by then, notably his turn as Detective Alex Cross, and as a romantic lead opposite Thandie Newton in Good Deeds.

What else? :)
