There's so much information out there that you just have to be careful. You never know what's real and what's phony. So when I heard about this now-in-production syndicated TV comedy show Ghetto Court I didn't think it was real

After checking up on it, it turns out that it is. There really is a TV show currently being taped called Ghetto Court with old time rapper Eric B (of Eric and Rakim) as the judge. I can't tell you anything more at this time except that the exec producers of the show are Eric B and Cassandra Cooper

And I have no information on when it will be on the air other than it will be "sometime this year". But it is being taped in New Jersey and supposedly they already have 25 episodes already in the can

And I have seen an actual on set photo of a show being taped and some set photos taken of the defendants testifying. Though I have to say that it looks like they're trying hard to look like a skit from In Living Color. So yes folks it definitely is a real show

But the more important question is, will you watch?

More "coonery & bufoonery" that will not amuse or entertain but is more than likely to
    mortify most of us. Pass......

  • Chrscoche | March 30, 2012 9:33 AM

If that were truly the case, we'd all be mortified by (**pick somebody**.)

  • Bigg Russ | March 28, 2012 11:41 AMReply

Eric B. is not a rapper.

All your comments are what I would expect but maybe this show will have some social responsibility. Maybe it will show how a logical mind can solve problems of real life issues. Maybe the topics will start out as stupid and Eric b will infuse some intelligence into the argument. Make people really look at themselves and their foolishness. We can hope.

If that's what the show actually is, who would watch it?

  • blah, blah | March 26, 2012 1:13 PM

I hear you but I wouldn't bet the farm on that. I mean, it is television after all and we are talking about rating wars.

  • blah, blah | March 26, 2012 9:51 AMReply

I think a more appropriate name for Ghetto Court is Cooning Court because that is exactly the type of shenanigans we can expect on this show. Now if you will excuse me, I will now go watch Bamboozled again for the 20th time and marvel at how right Spike was.

  • Tom Stoup | March 28, 2012 6:25 AM

    Amen. Bamboozled is the best.

  • Miles Ellison | March 26, 2012 8:12 PM

Although Bamboozled was not seen by that many people, it revealed that Spike Lee is a prophet.

  • ChgoSista | March 26, 2012 9:49 AMReply

He can't just uh, make beats, tracks, produce, etc.? He's gotta do THIS? Sheesh!!!!

  • ChgoSista | March 26, 2012 9:56 AM

    Oh---and NO--I WON'T be watching--AT ALL.

  • Monique A. Williams | March 26, 2012 9:41 AMReply

I'm betting this will air right after Judge Mathis, as his show has turned into quite a "ghetto court" in the past few years. Great programming for weekday mornings for the underemployed.

I can't believe this is real..............I heard tittz from the brickz is n on it..........can't wait for this reality show lol

  • Ava | March 25, 2012 7:09 PMReply

Perhaps by April 1st, we'll find Ghetto Court to be an elaborate joke? If this is indeed a real, show, I'd have to pass on this. So, I guess one needn't even be an actual judge to do one of these shows now?

  • LeonRaymond | March 25, 2012 12:02 AMReply

OMG this is akin to watching a criminal state he won't rob again and then ten minutes later he is in jail again for robbery, on this same post many people stated their honest and accurate displeasure of these type of shows and we know how much damage they do, but here it is again!!! I can't fathom at all why, but I do know their is a base that will support these shows and we know who they are flat out!

  • Miles Ellison | March 24, 2012 11:10 PMReply

Will there be burnt cork and tap dancing?

  • Hollywood50 | April 3, 2012 6:39 PM

I think the show will be a huge success. It's ok for Jerry Springer to do his types of shows for over 25 years with crazy ratings. But when a black man tries to film how some people truly behave, it's a tragedy, or you get the booji people stating "I'll pass.". How ignorant is that? I'll watch Ghetto Court and support Eric B & Cassandra. Yall continue to put more doe in Spinger's pockets.

  • Neziah | March 24, 2012 9:35 PMReply

    I love Eric B, but I'll pass.

  • BluTopaz | March 24, 2012 9:24 PMReply

We really don't need to wait for other people to make fools out of us, do we

  • Jai | March 24, 2012 9:19 PMReply

    No thanks!! *side eye*
