Patterson Joseph (above) and Georgia Taylor will replace series regulars Harriet Walter and Freema Agyeman (who were announced to have left the show over the summer), filling in the roles of prosecutor and commanding police officer in the upcoming seventh season of Law & Order: UK.

Patterson Joseph (Hustle; He was also in a few episodes of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency) will play Detective Inspector Wes Leyton, the new commanding officer for DS Ronnie Brooks and DS Sam Casey, who's been with the service since his adult-teens, and has been through it all, and knows it all.

During the new season, we find the newly-appinted Detective Inspector Leyton frustrated by established procedures, but is still set on making the most of it and getting results.

Any of our UK readers watchers of the series?
