MTV no love for the Mac?

It's a weird time to be a Mac user. With all the buzz about iPod video, you almost forget that Mac's are a tiny minority of the computer world. Then there's moments like this -
mtvoverdrive.tiff
noMAC.tiff
Makes sense, of course. Why would Microsoft DRM support a Mac application. But it reminds me of just why it is so ESSENTIAL that there be a DRM solution that isn't tied to an operating system. Hey, Microsoft didn't have a problem writing code for a Windows Media Player for mac... so they're more than happy to build tools that grow the WM reach onto all platforms. But that means they need to provide all the tools (DRM) not just some of them.

And for MTV to embrace the Microsoft DRM knowing that the mac community, though a minority, is among the most prolific and creative. So this means a kid with Motion, or Final Cut, can't play with Overdrive? Drag.
