Friday

Since last writing, we received the upgrades for the computer, installed them successfully and began digitizing the rest of the footage.

We held an FSU Film School Alum party on Saturday and then an Oscars party on Sunday. Chris Rock’s opening monologue about Bush and Fahrenheit 9/11 was so perfect. His banter on stars vs. popular people was exactly the attitude of the party. The house erupted with his final word…”Brooklyn!”.

I had a birthday on Wednesday and some friends came out and drank some wine with me. Another great (and late) time. Early Thursday morning I had to be at 666 5th Ave for a very corporate meeting (my first) for some “facetime” with the people I’m doing presentations for. Despite my haggard and clouded head, it was a success and they approved my templates and it looks like I’ll still be employed, working from home on my own schedule.

Today will be the first day that we welcome someone else on board of our project. His name is Benedict Kasulis and he’s a recent FSU grad and Brooklyn transplant. He is primarily going to work on the editing end relieving me of digitizing duties, but will also spill over into other fields as the project goes forward. We’re very excited to have someone as smart, congenial and willing as Benedict. He’s a true asset. Having a third set of hands will really be great. Hopefully freeing Luci and I up to work the final changes on the proposal and coordinating future shooting and research.
