Our Bleeding Hearts
Here is our latest news -

We've called him Buster for now. He has a broken pelvis apparently having been hit by a car. We're trying to keep him comfortable while he heals. The bandage on his leg has been removed and that's his pain medication patch on his side.
One of his back legs isn't working so well and the other has a nasty abrasion on it so he doesn't walk very well right now so we're keeping him immobilized. The doctors can't tell us how much nerve damage there is or will be until some healing happens, but he's not a lost cause. So we're posting his image everywhere in hope to find his parent(s). So far, no luck.
The doctors have recommended surgery to re-align the pelvis, but the only estimate we received was $3,000 which is far beyond our means. We are contemplating ways to raise the money. We'll keep you posted.
If anyone is a vet or knows a vet that can do some charity work or may want to work for trade (video production or graphic design), please click HERE to email us.
We found him late Saturday night and we heard him purr for the first time today. So apparently he's feeling a little better.

I'm in Bushwick, Brooklyn - don't know where you are specifically, but I'd be happy to cross-post this on my blog if you think it might help.
Thanks for taking care of this little guy. It's heartbreaking how many cats in these parts find themselves in bad situations.

Speak with Hope Vet in Brooklyn, if not to take the fellow there, but at least to see what resources they can advise you with. The program director is great there. The NYC Feral Cat Council (I know he's not feral, but...) is a great wealth of information on locating lost kitty parents and such. Good luck.
What borough are you in?

That's too bad. Have you considered contacting the North Shore Animal League or the Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition? They may be able to help. They are both no-kill shelters. Good luck.
