Park City, here I come

I was asked last Wednesday if I was ready, willing and able to go to Park City with indieWIRE and produce ten 3 - 5 minute episodes covering the Sundance Film Festival. As luck would have it, I was available.
On Thursday, I found out that all things were in place and I was hired. Right now, I’m sitting on an airplane typing this on my new MacBook Pro. I have gone to the other side and after only 3 days, I am starting to realize that maybe I was on the other side the entire time and this is what the computer experience should really be. I’m going to get a lot of “I told you so’s” for that, but I can admit when I’m wrong. The computer was the cherry on top of the proverbial ice-cream sundae of equipment that we have been needing to get to be truly a self-sufficient production company.

For the last 4 days, I have been fervently gathering gear, brainstorming and producing production elements to maximize my time in Park City. The steady flow of creativity has kept me working at a break-neck pace allowing my brain to rest for only 4 hours a night (2 hours last night). My body’s not too happy. It tried to get sick, but the lovely people at Alka-Seltzer have something to say about that.

The first episode is scheduled to be posted on Thursday evening. We will have interviews with industry celebrities, film reviews, music, iPOP highlights, breaking news and more - all packed into 4-5 minutes of online video love.

I’ll be posting all the links to find us when I know what the URLs are. I am also going to try and update this BLOG often, but I think “indieWIRE: on the scene, Park City 07” will be a literal journal of “what I’ve been doing” so I may neglect posting at length here.

So not only has indieWIRE extended their kindness by hosting my BLOG for the past 3 years, but now they have welcomed me and my ideas whole-heartedly. I am appreciative of being able to deliver a news show with all my “filmmaker sensibilities” in tact. At least, that is what I’m going to try and deliver. I hope you all enjoy watching it as much as I will making it! I’ll try to allow comments here and I welcome all criticism, discussion and requests.
