Film Analyst Alaa Karkouti Gives a Lecture in a Workshop for Filmmakers

In addition to multiple industry panels and as part of his widely recognized annual appearances in international festivals and film events, Film Analyst Alaa Karkouti, CEO at MAD Solutions, formed part of the 10thDubai International Film Festival (DIFF) which ran from December 6th - 14th, 2013.

In addition to multiple industry panels and as part of his widely recognized annual appearances in international festivals and film events, Film Analyst Alaa Karkouti, CEO at MAD Solutions, formed part of the 10thDubai International Film Festival (DIFF) which ran from December 6th - 14th, 2013. Within the frame work of DIFF's Dubai Film Forum, Karkouti gave a lecture in a workshop for filmmakers and film industry professionals. In addition, he moderated a discussion panel under the title "Video-On-Demand (VOD) in the Arab World".

Organized by Dubai International Film Festival, in collaboration with EAVE and Torino FilmLab, Karkouti's lecture was held on Saturday, December 7th, 2013. Karkouti drew on the conditions of film production and financing in the Arab world in a closed session with the presence of eight directors and producers.

On Wednesday, December 11th, 2013, Alaa Karkouti also moderated a one-hour panel discussion focusing on VOD in the Arab World. The discussion shed light on the new global trend of moving towards the world of VOD and the potentiality of having a real market for VOD in the region. The panelists of the event included Abe Naga, Director of Digital Business, MBC, Carlos Tibi, CEO, Icflix, Cliff Nelson - CEO, My-HD and David Hanson, Head of Digital Products, OSN
