Current front-runner for the Best Director Oscar, Alfonso Cuarón, will be a guest speaker at one of several Ovation-sponsored events

The ever gracious Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron took home the Golden Globe for Best Director this past Sunday. In his acceptance speech (the funniest of the night) the first words he uttered into the microphone were, "Ay guey." Mexicans across the globe chuckled at that one. Cuaron went on to tell a hilarious story about Sandra Bullock misunderstanding his accent while shooting Gravity in which she thought he said, "I'm going to give you herpes." What Cuaron actually said was, "I'm going to give you an earpiece."

Following his win, the man has been all over the internet. From videos and memes of his "Ay guey" moment to a "Script to Screen" featurette released by Warner Brothers, here is a round up of the internet love for Alfonso Cuaron and his spectacular visual effects space odyssey Gravity.

In this special behind-the-scenes look at the special effects that went into creating Gravity, Cuaron's true genius is revealed.

The night of the Globes, Twitter was giddy about the guy.

And not to be outdone, Fusion posted a vine clip of Cuaron's "ay guey" because who doesn't want to watch it on loop?
