In an interview for LatAmCinema.com, LATC President Steve Solot offered details of the agreement between Latin American Training Center-LATC and the American Film Market-AFM, the leading market for independent films from around the world. The 2013 edition of the AFM aims specifically to strengthen ties with the Latin American industry, increasing participation of professionals from the region, who will be provided a special discount through LATC. “We believe AFM can produce concrete results for Latin American professionals, who will find an ideal venue in the AFM to make good deals,” says Solot in the interview.

The President of LATC also called attention to the recent Latin American boom in terms of box office, admissions, tax incentives and funding mechanisms available to independent production, and the importance of taking advantage of this auspicious moment. In addition, he emphasizes the importance of the AFM to increase participation of Latin American products. “Each year, film deals representing over 800 million dollars are successfully finalized at AFM, the only major international film industry event to take place in the second semester of the year,” says Solot.
