Latvian films in Cannes give proof to the fact that Eastern and Central Europe are succeeding in joining the international independent film community. Not only will Latvia host the European Film Awards in 2014 but Film Riga's successful tax incentive has attracted internationally successful productions from as far away as Korea (The Berlin File) and closer to home, Russia (In the Fog), since 2010.
This Cannes, three Latvian films are screening in the Marché du Film in Cannes by their sales agents:
Mona by Ināra Kolmane (Princ Films)
Mother I Love You by Jānis Nords (New European Film Sales)
Visit Latvia Films link Pavillion 223, Village International Pantiero before the 18th and pick up an invitation to their cocktail reception.
