Pierre Lescure elected President of the Festival de Cannes

The Board of Directors of the Festival de Cannes elected its future President at its January 14th meeting.

Current President Gilles Jacob, known for his diverse work in the world of cinema, confirmed that he would be leaving the presidency on July 1st 2014, following the 67th Festival de Cannes to take place May 14-25 2014.

The election was held via secret vote in accordance with the regulations, and Pierre Lescure was unanimously elected President.The journalist and former TV executive of Canal Plus will take up his responsibilities beginning on July 1st.

The Board of Directors of the Festival de Cannes also appointed Gilles Jacob Honorary President of the Festival.
