Displaying tonally perfect performances by the protagonists, “Recommended by Enrique” is awkwardly hilarious and downright original. Modern trends inhabit a strange world of makeshift stardom, obscure intentions, and traditional Mexican spooky legends for an indie movie experience unlike many out there.

Violette , in French, subtitled in English, follows the strange and compelling story from the World War 2 years through the 1960s of trailblazing bisexual French feminist novelist Violette Leduc (Emmanuelle Devos, Kings and Queen) and her struggle to find her voice as a writer. Scarred by both a childhood trauma and a loveless marriage, as an adult, she became rather crazy.

Richard Montoya's "Water & Power" is a fusion between experimental Neo Noir and darkly humorous crime saga. It plays with language in a cheeky and tonally perfect manner. Rapid-fire dialogue with a hundred local references per second and endless puns that allude to the protagonists nicknames, all blend together to enhance the already strong sense of urban mysticism in the film.

Actor/Writer/Producer/Director Jaime Zevallos was never content with letting opportunity to come knocking – he went out and created his own opportunities while bartending and doing roles here and there. He would get home and write page after page and has to date written at least 15 feature length screenplays. He would use the skill and craft he honed at a local community college to start shooting his own films. A personal film he wrote (Heartlines) would be the first feature he wrote to go into production in which he also starred in opposite Steven Bauer. His current film which he also wrote, directed and stars in, the fiercely independent film 'Me You and Five Bucks' is currently playing film festivals.
