Finally a way to track festival winners that eliminates our need to track all festivals separately. Festival Scope , the online platform known for providing film professionals with online screening of films from more than 60 of the most prestigious international film festivals (including Berlinale, Rotterdam, Locarno, Venice, Cannes' Directors' Fortnight and Critics' Week, Toronto and San Sebastian) has developed a new section called "Labels" and is aimed at providing additional visibility to the films awarded in festivals or selected by partner organizations.

Cinando, the official website and database of the Cannes Market (Marche) offers online streaming for 40 films from Certain Regard, Directors Fortnight and Semaine de la Critique to its members. It also gives access to Cannes Competition and Out of Competition screenings, market screenings (with permission of international sales agents), Sofie FF, Black Night - Tallin FF, Abu Dhabi FF, Karlovy Vary FF, Ventana Sur and other festivals throughout the year.

The Rights RoundUp is a work-in-progress which will go on throughout Cannes until the next big show: Toronto, showing deals as they get made, listed by sales agent. It also shows all the festival films including those in Competition, out of Competition, Un Certain Regard, Directors' Fortnight and Critics Week by sales agent or producer when there is no sales agent.

The International Critics' Week (French: La Semaine Internationale de la Critique), founded in 1962 and organized by the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics, is the oldest parallel competitive section of the Cannes Film Festival. It showcases first and second feature films by directors from all over the world and has remained true to its tradition of discovering new talents. Bernardo Bertolucci, Ken Loach, Wong Kar-wai, Jacques Audiard, Arnaud Desplechin, Gaspar Noé and François Ozon all started out at Critics’ Week.

One of the most popular reports I publish is the Rights Roundup to show the trade who sold what to whom during the market (Cannes in this case). The ISAs (international sales agents) are all linked to their own websites. I wish all of the distribution companies who pick up the films for their territories (there are about 40 territories) and all the titles were also linked, but I lack the manpower to do the job 100% so only some are linked to their own company websites, or in the case of titles, to IMDbPro Title Pages. This reports allows sales agents to gauge their competitors, see who is buying similar types of films, and it allows buyers (distributors in this case) to see what similar acquisitions are being made by similar companies in other parts of the world and to have instant access to the sellers and buyers or to more details in the titles themselves.

Hanway has licensed Nowhere Boy to Gaga for Japan. It presold David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method to Lionsgate for U.K. Universal Pictures International (UPI) for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and South Africa. Picture will start in May. Mars picked it up for France, E1 for Canada, Transmission for Australia and Cineartfor Benelux. It is based on the true-life turbulent relationships between fledgling psychiatrist Carl Jung, his mentor Sigmund Freud and his patient Sabina and is adapted by screenwriter Christopher Hampton from his play The Talking Cure. Focus has North American rights. U.K. is still available. Made in Dagenham went to Ascot Elite for Switzerland, Lucky Red for Italy and Sony Pictures Classics for North America in pre-Cannes deals. Distributors also on board include ARP Sélection for France, Cineart for Benelux, Paramount Pictures International for U.K., Australia/ N.Z., Ascot Elite for Switzerland (http://www.ascot-eFlite.ch). Thirteen Assassins went to Cineart for Benelux. Mugabe and the White African sold to France's Pretty Pictures and to First Fun Features for U.S. for a July 23 theatrical launch.

m-appeal ♀ licensed Sasha to Strand for U.S. The film played in official selection at the Frameline Festival and the San Francisco International LGBT film festival and will screen at Outfest in Los Angeles in July.
