LatinoBuzz: FICG in LA 2014 Announces Line Up and Honorees

Yesterday the Guadalajara International Film Festival in Los Angeles - FICG in LA - presented by the University of Guadalajara Foundation in USA and CONACULTA, announced its lineup. "The Hours with You" (Las Horas Contigo) directed by Catalina Aguilar Mastretta, will be the Opening Night film for the 2014 Festival. The film stars Cassandra Ciangherotti, María Rojo, Isela Vega, Arcelia Ramírez and Julio Bracho.

Taking advantage of the impact that film has on modern society and aiming to promote a culture of tolerance and non-discrimination, the Guadalajara International Film Festival in (FICG29) presents the Maguey Awards, accolades given to film productions that expose narratives about an open sexuality, a cinema of acceptance towards sexual diversity in all its manifestations, cinema that gives a voice to "minorities" whom up to now have resisted oppression.
