How unrealistic to suggest anyone would be confused over whether or not to sleep with Tom Hardy over anyone else on Earth:

Europa, Europa

For the third year in a row I've headed over to London for the BFI London Film Festival, where I'll be for the next 10 days. Though in a twist over previous years, I've decided to stay in Europe for a bit afterwards, and will be working from all over my favourite continent for the next two months. So for what it's worth, this blog will reflect that over the next little while in a throwback to the hobo tours of yore. Frankly, I'm a bit concerned my mind, soul and liver are no longer capable of these kind of aimless traveller shenanigans (I'm getting frighteningly domestic in my old age), but there's no going back now, so...

Former SNL comedian and recent washed up nobody Victoria Jackson continues to try and emerge as some sort of Jesus-crazed viral video right wing commentator, this time by making a trip to the protests on Wall Street.

A Legitimate Reason To Hate Hilary Swank

I'd always felt kind of guilty for hating Hilary Swank so much. Other than her being an extraordinarily overrated actress who stole Kate Winslet's "Eternal Sunshine" Oscar, there was no real reason. Well, now there is. Made you fade into obscurity quickly and painfully, Ms. Swank, clutching the however many millions of dollars Ramzan Kadyrov put in on your blood covered hands...

Abe Sylvia Talks "Dirty Girl"

For a fun time this weekend, check out Abe Sylvia's irresistibly sassy directorial debut "Dirty Girl" - a raunchy, 1980s set comedy that details the story of smart, slutty Danielle (the transformative Juno Temple) and overweight, gay Joel (Nicholas D'Agosto). I chatted with Sylvia back at last year's Toronto Film Festival, where the film debuted. Please excuse how awkward I am, and enjoy how charming and genuine Mr. Sylvia is:

Thank you, Ontario, for not giving us the Conservative Hat Trick that seemed so certain all summer. The results ain't my dream come true, but I can certainly live with them. Although it seems like the right wing crazies at the Toronto Sun can't. Journalism at its finest:

14 Minutes and 50 Seconds With Michael Fassbender

A few days back I had the ridiculous pleasure of interviewing Mr. Michael Fassbender when he was in New York promoting both "Shame" and "A Dangerous Method" at the New York Film Festival. Clever, insightful and seemingly quite humble, I'm happy to report that Fassbender the person seems as perfect as Fassbender the actor. The full interview is up over at indieWIRE, but I've posted the audio below. It was actually more like 18 minutes but my recorder tragically died before the last two questions (and before all the lovemaking, of course):

On the same day I finally decided to buy an iPhone, no less... But seriously, this man was a gifted visionary who truly changed the world and everyday lives of almost everyone I know. Take the time to watch this commencement speech he gave at Stanford in 2005, which is remarkably inspiring and makes clear the incredible man behind the Apple:

"My Week With Marilyn" Finally Gets a Trailer

One of the final films of 2012 to receive a trailer (we're still waiting on "Young Adult," but that's about it), "My Week With Marilyn" finally gave us 2 minutes to judge upon, and boy are they pretty. We don't see much of Kenneth Branagh as Laurence Olivier (rumoured to be the best thing about the film), but we get plenty of Michelle Williams as Marilyn herself. Williams seems to definitely be offer her own interpretation of Monroe rather than simply mimicking her, which could go either way but these two minutes seem to suggest she's quite captivating. I'm sad to miss the premiere at NYFF this weekend (it's Canadian Thanksgiving and I've skipped out on that holiday one too many times recently), but its November 4th release date is really not too far off so we'll all get a chance to see "Marilyn" soon enough:
