“If she’s going to go out there and say things to me, about me, I’m going to leak some things on her. I mean that’s just how it is…There are some things that I have that are huge…If I really wanted to hurt her I could very easily. But I’m not gonna go that far.”
Another reason why I’m thinking the UK might be my new favourite dominantly English-speaking country. And I love that I get the extra-hour day twice since North America won’t be doing it until a few weeks later:
From high atop the balcony of the Odeon Leichester Square last night, here’s a clip of Wes Anderson, George Clooney, Bill Murray, et al introducing their lovely film “Fantastic Mr. Fox.” You can read my entire rundown of the festivities here, but if you feel like squinting your eyes, check out this clip:
And on a somewhat related aside, the highlight of the night might have come at the massive afterparty, when a friend and I saw a woman entering the room. “Oh wow, that drag queen looks exactly like Cindy Crawford,” I said with complete seriousness. It wasn’t a drag queen:
“When I was trying to make it out here, I already knew, and I was stubborn about it,” R. Kelly said. “I don’t even read really and I’m not afraid to say that. My cousins and brothers used to tease me ‘you can’t even read right. How you think you’re going to come up?’
As a more journalistic aside to my previous post, here’s an audio snippet from my interview with “An Education”‘s Carey Mulligan yesterday, with her discussing what she aspires toward in her post-“An Education” career, including which actresses she admires. You can read the full interview here.
