“Paranormal Activity” Heading To Insane Weekend Numbers

Not that I should be surprised, but it looks like Paramount has officially turned micro budget horror flick “Paranormal Activity” into a massive success story and perhaps the marketing success story of the year. Look at last night’s numbers:

That should equate to a $6-7 million dollar weekend and a $35,000-$45,000 per-theater average, one of the better averages ever grossed on a film within its screen range.  It also means the film will recoup its budget twice over on each individual screen its playing on.  That’s pretty incredible.
