Canadian band Metric has finally released "Youth Without Youth" onto the internets -- their first single off "Synthetica" (out June 12th).
One of my very favourite go-tos for catchy, accessible indie rock music, Metric has never ceased to win me over on their four previous albums... all of which are packed with moody, fun tracks So I've been highly anticipating this. I've never quite understood how they haven't broken further Stateside... Particularly their previous album, which had 3 or 4 very radio-friendly singles I couldn't remove from my head for months.
Listen to their new single here. I personally didn't immediately fall in love (previous singles "Monster Hospital" and "Help, I'm Alive" had me at hello), but it's growing on me. And if you've never heard of Metric, a few introductions:
