Song of the Week: Bat For Lashes' 'Laura'

By Daniel D'Amours | The Lost Boys November 16, 2012 at 8:10PM

This week's pick is from one of my favorite albums of 2012. Bat For Lashes' "The Haunted Man" was released in October 2012, and it has been by far my most listened album while cooking alone at my apartment. Okay that sounds a bit depressing, but you'll realized quickly that all of your meals will actually taste better, only because you would have given them the love it deserved through the lyrics of the album!

"The Haunted Man" is the third album from Bat For Lashes, aka Natasha Khan. The rawness of the global feeling and the truth of the album makes it truly special, you can easily find yourself in her sensitive love & hate lyrics. The album puts Khan's voice up front, helping it give a perfectly elegant indie pop sound.

You'll like her if you like: Fiona Apple, Cat Power, Lykke Li
What to wear while listening to that song: Any kind of soft material : silk, cashmere, etc
What to do while listening to that song: Cook ! ( obviously )
What to drink while listening to that song: a BIG glass of red wine.

FYI, Bat for Lashes has also contributed to the Two Door Cinema Club's single Sleep Alone (which was the first 'song of the week' post ).
