Am I out of a job? That's what Forbes magazine said in this article, which announces that AOL is folding 30 brands, including indieWIRE. But before you suggest I return to my hustlin' days, note that AOL does not own indieWIRE, and as far as I can tell, there's absolutely no folding going on... I'm not sure how Forbes got us on that list, but we definitely don't belong there.

SNL's Victoria Jackson Is Both Still Alive AND a Crazy Backwoods Bigot

One of the least successful people to ever come out of Saturday Night Live, I was surprised to learn today that Victoria Jackson is both alive, and a crazy backwoods Christian prone to weird hair accessories, non-sensical, REMARKABLY ignorant rants ("homophobia is a buzzword created by the liberal agenda!) and giving anti-gay and anti-Muslim rants on HLN. Jackson comes across as a total nutjob, which is easy enough to laugh at and shake off (mostly thanks the to her voice. I'd always thought that was an act?), but seriously HLN, CNN and every other news program out there: STOP GIVING THESE PEOPLE A PLATFORM AND MAKING IT SEEM LIKE THEIR OPINIONS BELONG ANYWHERE IN THE CONVERSATION.

So says this, which suggests Ms. Parker wants the third movie to explore parenthood. What a perfectly fresh and appropriate topic for a movie about 3 women in their 50s and one in her 80s.

I have to admit, the first thing I did when I got out bed this morning - with very little thought process involved - was grab my laptop and download Lady Gaga's new single, "Born This Way." I was aware of the single's impending explosion onto the pop culture landscape... And totally bought into the hype. Now, I stand disappointed and embarrassed for doing so.

These self-financed For Your Consideration ads really creep me out. With the SAG and Globe, you already had a good thing going heading into Oscar. Maybe it's just me, but this makes you come across a bit, I don't know, desperate and crazy? I mean, these look like horribly tacky ads for faux fur. And they ain't helping you to that podium.

Speaking of World AIDS Day, this well-intentioned campaign where celebrities temporarily "die" on Facebook or Twitter is also super fucking annoying:

Fuck Warner Brothers for rebooting something that was already done perfectly less than a decade ago just because vampires are trendy and profitable. Had you involved Joss Whedon, or Sarah Michelle Gellar, or any number of other people associated with show, or done this FIVE YEARS AGO as a supplement to the series with the same cast, writers, etc... sure, I'd be all for it... But for a total reboot with god knows who starring or at the helm, it's too soon, and I'm sure the vast majority of "Buffy" fans agree with me.
