Written and performed by Holly Laurent, this Second City spoof on Lana Del Ray's "Video Games" vis-à-vis the plot of "Hunger Games" is totally fucking brilliant and hilarious (and has a few book/film spoilers, FYI... if you're in the "Hunger Games" know you'll love this, if you're not, you might not really care):

These are indeed the horribly embarrassing nominations for best album at the Juno Awards aka Canada's version of the Grammys. That's right Feist, Justin Bieber's Christmas album is way fucking better than "Metals." And you can suck it, Austra, because Nickelback's latest piece of shit blows you out of the water.  And, hey, francophone musicians, Avril Lavigne's elementary anglo lyrics beats anything you've done last year. Dear god, let Drake win this.

Michael Fassbender looking ridiculously hot in a SAS commercial from like 10 years ago that more or less works like a prequel to 'Shame':

Check out the audio from a very charming and energetic interview with one of my favourites, Ms. Parker Posey, who is characteristically fabulous in her Sundance movie "Price Check":

A few days back here in Sundance I caught a screening of David France's astonishingly powerful documentary "How To Survive a Plague." A chronicle of AIDS activism in New York, the film shows how a group of men and women fought against a remarkably homophobic establishment to help bring life-saving drugs to America.  The film moved me so much that I decided to check out a public screening the next day just so I could take in one of the Q&As (there wasn't one at the industry screening I initially attended). And as expected, it was pretty powerful stuff:

It's not going to be for everyone, but I really got into Leslye Headland's "Bachelorette" at last night's premiere.  A sort of "Bridesmaids" meets "Mean Girls" by way of John Hughes, its darker and more cynical than I expected (though honestly my major complaint is that it wasn't quite dark enough). It's also probably going to offend or at least put off a lot of folks (and did last night), particularly those outside the demographic the film is significantly geared toward (gays and gals in their 20s). But I actually found it depressingly authentic in its unlikeable characters, and felt that its entire cast - Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher, Lizzie Caplan and breakout Rebel Wilson - were across the board stellar. Wilson was also fucking hilarious on stage afterwards at a rather riotous Q&A, the entire video from which is available below:

It's 7:45am here in Park City, Utah and the Oscar nominations are up and out. There's nothing like peeling yourself out of bed at 6am to . Sure, there were some pleasantries ("The Tree of Life"! Gary Oldman! "A Separation" for best original screenplay!), but for each one there were like a dozen things to annoy you, from "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" making the cut for best picture to the inexcusable absence of Tilda Swinton, Michael Fassbender and Albert Brooks in the acting categories. Here's the 10 biggest surprises of the nominations, for better or worse (though mostly worse).
