After a string of well received performances in indies like "Afterschool," "City Island" and "Another Happy Day," Ezra Miller has been given the greatest showcase for his talents yet in Lynne Ramsay's "We Need To Talk About Kevin." In his portrayal of the titular character - a sociopathic teen who goes on a school shooting rampage - Miller goes head to head with his on screen mother Tilda Swinton in one of the year's most impressive acting duels.

This 30 minute speech that Hillary Clinton gave before the United Nations in Geneva has been making the rounds today, and don't let its hefty timestamp discourage you from watching the entire thing (sadly we live in an era where 10 minute+ on the internet has become downright epic). It's a well-written, affecting and powerful call to arms for LGBT rights in a world that still has a generally disturbing take on the issue:

There's a shitload to chew on in the first of three announcements that share the 2012 Sundance Film Festival lineup. But here's one in particular: The World Doc Competition, which has 12 films in all, is comprised of a whopping 7 films from two countries: Denmark and Canada.

This morning was a bit of a nightmare for any awards blogger. All morning we all sat watching our twitter feeds as BOTH the New York Film Critics Circle and the Independent Spirit Awards simultaneously tweeted their announcements in what turned out to be a delayed and drawn out process (especially for the former). You can check out the NYFCC winners here and the Spirit nods here. All I can say is: Thank god I live on Eastern Time.
