It's only been nine years since the Copenhagen International Film Festival (or CPH: DOX, as it is almost exclusively referred) began its inaugural year. Directly before International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) - essentially the main staple of the European doc fest circuit - the chances of CPH: DOX rising to their ranks in the short time since seemed highly unlikely. But CPH: DOX is not your grandparents' film festival.

This blog is now over four years old (!), and while I've thoroughly enjoyed having it all to myself, the time has come for it to evolve. And for my half dozen regular readers (hi Mom!) I can assure you this change is very much a good thing.

Basically, I decided that since Indiewire has a whole was getting a big makeover, why not do the same 'round these parts. And not just aesthetically (though I must thank Sebastian Speier for designing our nifty new logo), but fundamentally: Adding an "s" to end of its title and opening it up to a few more contributors. And not just anyone, but people I genuinely bring a lot to the table in very different ways.

There's six new "lost boys" to start: Mark Ambrose Harris, Brad Horvath, Matthew Hammett Knott, Derek Marchewka, Pedro Marum and Oliver Skinner.  All good friends of mine, they seemed like the obvious first new additions as they all bring a totally different views and interests to the table. I'll let them all introduce themselves in the following four posts:

Meet Mark Ambrose Harris

Meet Brad Horvath

Meet Matthew Hammett Knott

Meet Derek Marchewka

Meet Pedro Marum

Meet Oliver Skinner

From hereonin, look for the author tag to see which of us is posting. And also bear with us in the next week or so as we work out the new bells and whistles of Indiewire's awesome new operating system.

Also note that more "boys" will be added in the coming months, and while yes, the first four "lost boys" are all indeed physically boys, it is not my intention to limit the gender of this blog's new contributors. It was genuinely just sort of random that the first batch all fit the blogs title literally. Figuratively, of course, the title refers to the fact that we are all vampires.

@peterknegt thinks that people who don't have sex are absurd. That's because he is a gay man who can't say no.
