11 New Images From 'The Place Beyond The Pines' With Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes & Bradley Cooper

We may be stuck in the midst of the early winter slopfest that the studios are serving up, but help is on the way. One movie that is already on this writer's Best Of 2013 list is Derek Cianfrance's "The Place Beyond The Pines," and as the spring release approaches, a batch of new images are here to give you taste of tattooed, Baby Daddy Ryan Gosling and the rest of the cast.

But first let's get this out of the way: you see that image up top? You're not going to see it on the big screen. ''This scene is no longer in the movie, shot on day one,'' Cianfrance told EW. ''In this, Luke (Gosling) has just decided to stay in Schenectady. He has found out he's a dad to this baby from a one-night stand. He has to decide whether to stay or go with this traveling circus. He's counting that he has $106 left. How does he become this father, this object of security in this baby's life, covered in tattoos, in the worst hotel room you can find, with only $106?''

Indeed, the movie finds Luke deciding to try and do the best for the son he didn't know he had, but his decision to turn to bank robbery has consequences that spread far and wide, ensnaring the life of a police officer (Bradley Cooper) and more. "A brilliant, towering picture, 'The Place Beyond The Pines' is a cinematic accomplishment of extraordinary grace and insight," we wrote in our review from TIFF, so yes, we liked it. A lot.

Co-starring Ray Liotta, Eva Mendes and Dane DeHaan, "The Place Beyond The Pines" opens on March 29th.

That's a limited released, right? I'm assuming New York and L.A. only - does anyone know when it's supposed to release wide?
