10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesDeadline reveals that Katee Sackhoff -- perhaps best known as Dana Walsh on "24" or by nerds for her turn as Captain Thrace on "Battlestar Galactica" -- has snagged the female lead opposed Diesel in the upcoming, and still untitled movie set to be directed by David Twohy. A pretty vague synopsis has been floating around for this one that centers on Riddick who is left for dead on an isolated planet and has to fight for survival against alien predators. Soon bounty hunters enter the fray all looking to kill him off, but dude is on a mission of vengeance and can't be stopped. And oh yeah, he also has to save his home planet of Furya from destruction.
No word yet if Karl Urban -- said last fall to be reprising his role as Vaako from "The Chronicles Of Riddick" -- is confirmed to be back, but the wheels seem to be in motion. No word yet on a release date, but Diesel's wish of having this shoot in 2012 seems to be coming true.

This was first rumored back in October. Looks like it paid off!

I had to take back all those nice things I said about Warners since they are reneging on all those great decisions, like shit canning Akira. But I am happy to say Universal is made of 100% PURE AWESOME! Now if only they could swoop in and take the RED franchise from Summit before the losers at Lionsgate destroys it, my joy would be complete.
