Warning: If you don't want to know who the cameo is "Sherlock Holmes 2," stop reading right here and don't read the tags to this post either. You've been warned.

It seems like "Sherlock Holmes 2" has been filming forever and with a winter release date already set at some point, director Guy Ritchie is going to have to wrap it up and get into an editing bay to bring this thing home. But until then, the production continues to travel and shoot around Europe, and naturally, any film starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law is certain to get gawkers and press flocking to the set. So leave it to StrasTV to capture and report on what has been a pretty well kept secret. Until now.

As it turns out, Sherlock Holmes isn't quite done with Irene Adler, and cameras captured Rachel McAdams in full gear during recent shooting in Strasbourg. Back in November, the actress addressed rumors about a possible appearance in the upcoming sequel by saying, “It’s kind of all still in the process. It’s hard to say, because Irene Adler only appeared in one of the stories of Doyle’s reservoir of activities. They’re still doing script work, and we’ll see. If I do, it won’t be a very big thing. It’s not a lead part, but we’ll find out quickly.”

Well, it looks like they've worked Irene into the script and that she'll be popping up alongside Holmes and Watson in their latest adventure. McAdams joins Noomi Rapace, Stephen Fry and Jared Harris in the forthcoming film which will hit theaters on December 16th. You can check out the StrasTV report below and there are numerous set pictures if that's your thing over at CineWebradio. [via ComingSoon]
