Actor Says He Plays A Bored Vampire With A "Death Wish"

We got a few yesterday, but more images have landed from the upcoming "Fright Night" remake, Craig Gillespie's spin on the 1985 horror-comedy. This latest set has even more of villain vampire Colin Farrell taking care of his bloodthirsty business along with new looks at Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots and Toni Colette. "It's a little bit of fun. It's a little bit of sport," Farrell told EW about his bored vampire character. "At this stage, he's probably got something of a death wish. He's really just tired of hiding in the shadows, literally."

The film follows a teenager (Yelchin) who discovers that he's got a vampire living next door. Colette is his mom and Poots plays the love interest with the cast rounded out by Christopher Mintz-Plasse as his friend Evil Ed, Dave Franco as an asshole bully and Chris Sarandon in a cameo that will link everything back to the previous film. With all these pics now landing, how about a trailer, marketing department? This is a film that is going to have to hit a very specific tone right on the nose in order to get it right and we're curious to see how this all turns out.

"Fright Night" opens on August 19th. More pics below. [Facebook/EW, print edition]

I’ve always wanted to see Christian Bale and Colin Farrell do another movie together after having no scenes together in The New World (2005). They are both incredible actors and it would be amazing to see them bounce off each other in a film.

Can you please explain what was meant by "a 'Jaws'-like vampire" in the previous Fright Night article?
