'Breaking Bad' Star Aaron Paul, 'The Help' Breakout Actress Octavia Spencer & Nick Offerman Also On BoardSince Mary Elizabeth Winstead is done battling awful CGI-rendered aliens in "The Thing" prequel, and "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul and Nick Offerman aka Ron Swanson from "Parks & Recreation" have a break from their shows' respective seasons, it would appear as if it's time to shoot a feature.

Yes, the casting continues on "The Expendables 2," the sequel to last year's surprising smash hit movie (hauling over $270 million worldwide), and it's bringing together a batch old fogies such as Sylvester Stallone, Randy Couture, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean-Claude Van Damme, with more names getting their schedules worked out and Liam Hemsworth recently added to try and provide some younger eye candy. Well, one more rumored name has now been confirmed, and at the age of 35, he'll be on the younger end of the ass-kicking spectrum.

With Rights To 'Nymphomaniac' Selling Like Crazy, Does Lars Von Trier's Non-Apology Really Matter?

Oh, Lars Von Trier. The director, who seriously needs to be put in the hands of a good publicist, continues to shoot off this mouth and stack the deck against himself. While he's not exactly Mel Gibson, watching the helmer lately is akin to seeing a sub-Andrew Dice Clay comedian bomb terribly somewhere in the Catskills. His comments, both at Cannes and in the latest issue of GQ, aren't so much offensive (though we can understand how someone might be offended) as they are a series of poorly selected words. Before we get to the latest statement that has ruffled feathers, let's rewind a bit to the Croisette -- here's what he said at the time in answer to a question about his Germanic roots that caused festival organizers to bar him from the Palais:

Clarke Peters from 'The Wire,' Nate Parker And Other Cast Members RevealedDirector, writer, actor, producer and prolific Twitter presence Spike Lee isn't shy about speaking his mind. But when it comes to his next effort, "Red Hook Summer," he's been playing it very coy. What we know thus far is the film finished shooting in August and will be “Burning Up Da Summer 2012!.” The story will center on an adult from Atlanta who spends a summer in the titular hood. And oh yeah, Lee will be reprising his character of Mookie from "Do The Right Thing." However, don't expect Radio Raheem to be making an appearance.

James Cameron Convinced To Join Brainstorming Sessions, But Not Officially InvolvedWhile it the success of "Fast Five" has put Justin Lin on the hot list for movie projects around town, things just haven't quite been going his way this summer. While he's been wishlisted/shortlisted for projects like "The Wolverine" and "Die Hard 5" he has turned down those opportunities, and last month he exited the "Highlander" remake he had been attached to for a couple of years. All of this was with his eye firmly on a new 'Terminator' movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger, but alas, it looks like the stars won't aligning for him to work on the project.

Screen Gems To Remake TIFF Midnight Madness Hit 'The Raid' Without Original Director

At this year's Toronto International Film Festival, which proved relatively quiet in terms of breakout hits, one film has dominated the buzz among genre-fans: Indonesian actioner "The Raid." Focusing on a SWAT team attempting to take out a mobster in a tenement, and directed by ex-pat Welsh helmer Gareth Huw Evans, it's apparently an ultra-violent, breathless, stripped-down, genre classic, with some viewers drawing comparisons to "Die Hard" -- high praise indeed. (Watch the trailer below for a hint of what to expect).

At one stage, 2011 threatened to be the year of Rachel Weisz, with no fewer than five films set for release and several potential awards contenders among them. But things haven't quite turned out as planned; she picked up good reviews for "The Whistleblower," but the film didn't get much traction, while both "Page Eight" and "360" got pretty poor reviews at Toronto, and "Dream House"... well, I mean, you've seen the trailer, right?

There are probably no two busier people right now in Hollywood than Jason Bateman and Olivia Wilde -- except for maybe Bryan Cranston -- but we like 'em both so no complaints from us, though their choice of upcoming projects does give us pause.
