While we have to wait for Hugh Jackman to sharpen his adamantium claws in "The Wolverine," he's got another metal alloy based movie on the way this fall in the way of the robot-boxing movie "Real Steel." A new Japanese trailer for the film (don't worry, it's mostly in English with some Japanese voice-over) has dropped, with plenty of new footage to make it worth your while during your next coffee break.

Jennifer Lopez is at a bizarre crossroads in her career, where she's currently famous for formerly being a superstar, because at any rate, no one wants to see her in movies or listen to her music. Her last few efforts on the big screen -- "The Back-Up Plan," "El cantate" and "Bordertown" -- were outright duds. While on the music fromt, despite having a hit single with "On The Floor," no one bought her album "Love?" with only 183,000 copies sold to date a far cry from her previous effort "Brave" (650,000 copies) and leagues away from the era when she was moving units in the millions. But that being said, she's still a brand, an "American Idol" host and a hugely influential and popular figure in the Latino community and above all, there is still a curiosity factor about Jenny from the block that for whatever reason piques the pop culture mind. But movie execs are dumb, and while Lopez is getting another shot at a couple of upcoming movies, she will not be toplining as she did back in her "Maid In Manhattan"/"The Wedding Planner" days.

The conventional wisdom is that the massive San Diego Comic-Con is to serve as a launchpad for tentpole movies and television programs that will be hitting big and small screens over the next twelve to twenty-four months. But it looks like attendees this year will get a chance to see a promising show that was canceled (and hopefully will be revived if the word proves to strong).

So, what was that tweet all about? At the end of May, Idris Elba took to his Twitter and cryptically tweeted, “Having one of the biggest meetings of my professional life today…meeting a very controversial director for a very controversial part.” He followed that up with, “I wish I could tell you more but…in due time,” and also added, “On the plane to the destination of my fate…..ok…. a lil dramatic….destination of my life..?” While many (including us) figured he was talking about "Django Unchained," word began to crop up he was being eyed for another movie entirely: Guillermo Del Toro's "Pacific Rim."

No film studio gets into the comic book movie game without thinking "franchise." Pretty much every comic movie so far this year was preceded by sequel talk, even before they hit theaters. The filmmakers behind "X-Men: First Class" tossed around potential settings for a follow up; while much of any casting news regarding Ryan Reynolds over the past year seemed to be contingent on how quickly Warner Bros. would want a "Green Lantern 2" (judging by the numbers? Probably not so fast). And, "Captain America: The First Avenger" has already been talking sequel too. Earlier this spring Chris Evans dropped a little nugget that a second film would find Steve Rogers in the "modern world" and now, it looks like Marvel is committing to that direction.

Guillermo del Toro Would Also Like To Direct ‘Maleficent’ (If Given The Chance)

Guillermo del Toro might be distinguishable to many for his rotund physique, but he’s better known these days, production-wise at least, for stretching himself too thin. Since his last film -- 2008’s “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” -- he famously hotfooted it from “The Hobbit” over a year ago, citing production delays even before MGM declared bankruptcy, though he’s yet to get started on a new project, even as Peter Jackson’s two-part epic began production earlier in the year. Conventional logic would dictate that del Toro’s long overdue for getting a Spanish-language “one for me” out of his system along the lines of “The Devil’s Backbone” and “Pan’s Labyrinth”, but he tells The LA Times he’d seriously consider taking on Disney’s revisionist fairy tale “Maleficent” that’s been shopped around since 2009, usually with Angelina Jolie in consideration for the lead role, if the studio asked him. “Let me put it this way, if they ask I’ll take the meeting”, del Toro assures us. Wait, what? Aren’t you meant to be getting ready to make “Pacific Rim”?

"Game of Thrones" hasn't just been one of the best series of the just-finished TV seasons, one that improved week-on-week, but it also proved to be a big hit, increasing its audience by nearly 40% between its premiere and its finale on Sunday. The survivors are set to get going on a second season in July, but it's undoubtedly given a career boost to everyone involved, even those who were gruesomely dispatched across the first season.
