First, let's just start off by saying the work that those in the U.S. Navy take on is brave and courageous, and their sacrifice is immeasurable. That being said, turning the efforts of the Navy SEALS into some kind of first-person shooter video game movie does their service to the country a great injustice and plays more like a movie put together by pasting together scenes from "Call of Duty." Though we guess a movie about mid-level grunts would be boring.

'360' Pensmith Wrote The Story For Next Bond Film, But Never Got To Do A ScriptExclusive: Screenwriters can be typecast in the same way as actors, and if someone was to stereotype Peter Morgan at this point, it would be as "the biopic guy." He's picked up two Oscar nominations for films based on real people -- namely "The Queen" and "Frost/Nixon" -- and along the way has tackled figures as varied as Tony Blair (three times), Bill Clinton, Lord Longford, Idi Amin, Brian Clough and, not once but twice, King Henry VIII. But he's been keen to stretch his wings for some time, with his two most recent films both being original scripts: firstly Clint Eastwood's "Hereafter," and now, Fernando Mereilles' "360," with Rachel Weisz, Jude Law and Anthony Hopkins, which is, as we speak, opening the BFI London Film Festival.

In Hollywood, you're only as good as your last movie, and with Russell Brand's first bonafide leading man vehicle "Arthur" opening at number three this spring and then fading fast from theaters, it seems some heat has fallen off Mr. Katy Perry. Meanwhile, Ben Stiller continues to be a moneymaker (at least when you stick him in mainstream fare). "Little Fockers," as wretched as it was, still made over $300 million worldwide. "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian"? More than $400 million around the globe. So it's no surprise that the folks behind the gestating movie version of the TV show "Rentaghost" would prefer one name much more than the other.

'Four Lions' Writer Jesse Armstrong Penning Script For Liam Gallagher-Produced Film, But Johnny Depp Likely Won't Play LeadExclusive: Few directors have such a keen eye for music as Michael Winterbottom. From The Cranberries-stuffed soundtrack in his sophomore feature "Butterfly Kiss" to "24 Hour Party People," one of the best films about rock'n'roll ever made, to the perverse 50s cuts in last year's "The Killer Inside Me," he's always had a great sense for the right backdrop to the action, whether it be an original score or a song. And now, it looks like the director is heading towards tackling perhaps the Holy Grail of popular music, by making a film about The Beatles.

It has been a long time since John Singleton has made a film that lived up to his early work like "Boyz N The Hood" or "Higher Learning." His last effort was the dismal and lamebrained Taylor Lautner vehicle "Abduction," and while for a brief moment it seemed he would be taking on "Straight Outta Compton," the biopic of N.W.A., he was quickly pushed out with a different trio of filmmakers in the running for the gig (apparently Craig Brewer is favored though it will depend on how well (or not) "Footloose" does this weekend). But the director has rebounded and is now circling another hip hop story that he is just as well suited for as the N.W.A. flick and one that should hopefully be a return to his former glory.
