“The Company Men,” aka “The Supposed Problems of Unsympathetic Rich People” or “Good Actors Stuck in a Mediocre Movie,” tries to be timely, but it’s as out of touch as Pat Buchanan. It aims for “Up in the Air”-level relevance and poignancy with its plot centering on layoffs at a New England company, but it’s more likely to garner yawns than tears. What’s worse is that this isn’t a substandard movie with an equally substandard cast. Instead, first-time feature director John Wells has somehow managed to attract top-level talent Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones, Chris Cooper, and Maria Bello (and Kevin Costner).

It's been a couple of years since "Bruno" and if you've been feeling an absence of Sacha Baron Cohen on the big screen, that's all about to change. Of course, he has a role in Martin Scorsese's 3D family film "Hugo Cabret" set to hit at the end of the year, and now, his high concept comedy "The Dictator" has landed a release date of May 11, 2012 and will undoubtedly become his next starring vehicle.

On-The-Rise Australian Actress May Have To Choose Between Both Films If Schedules Don't WorkDear Internet. Please turn off so we can go to bed. Ok, we've done enough 2011 anticipated pieces to bore you silly, but if we were going to do a Most Anticipated piece on the films beginning production in 2011 -- don't worry we won't -- "The Road" director John Hillcoat's prohibition crime drama, "The Wettest County In The World," and Wentworth Miller's mysterious family drama, "Stoker" would both be near the top of that list.

Variety have revealed that “Enchanted” director Kevin Lima and writer David Sussman have been recruited to develop an untitled pitch for Sony Pictures Animation. Originated by art director Michael Kurinsky and producer Chris Chase, the project is described as a part live-action, part CGI animated film like last year’s blockbuster “Alice in Wonderland.” No details have surfaced on the plot yet. The greenlight for the film is waiting on Sussman’s script, with Lima first in line to direct.

Like baseball cards, these A-List actors are. Robert Downey Jr. is backing out of Sam Raimi's "Oz: The Great And Powerful" but the production may have secured a killer replacement in Johnny Depp, currently in discussions to fill Tony Stark's shoes. Sets and effects are already being worked on, with a start date eyed for later this year, so the production is looking to hit the ground running, and it appears Downey just might be too busy to accommodate Disney's hustle.

Michael Fassbender & Kevin Bacon Talk Shop; Also, Jennifer Lawrence Is All Kinds Of AwesomeTalk about dominating the news cycle: after months of relative inactivity, the 20th Century Fox promotional machine went into full gear yesterday -- perhaps a bit before was originally intended -- in support of the still-filming "X-Men: First Class," with set visits, official stills and a poster all hitting the net, hot on the heels of the underwhelming first look at the cast in full costume/make-up. Now, some of the members of the cast have been talking about the film as well, with Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Kevin Bacon (villain Sebastian Shaw) and Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) all discussing the film with various outlets.

Every director wants to make a musical at some point in their lives -- it's one of the great challenges available in the profession, and helmers from Steven Spielberg to Edgar Wright have all expressed an interest in the genre at some stage and now it looks like one more big-name director is set to throw his bowler hat into the ring, albeit in a roundabout way.
