While the MTV series "True Life" might be the most recognizable title on director Carlos Puga's CV, when it came to crafting his sophomore feature film, he put together something quite different than you might expect. Picking up Special Jury Recognition for Ensemble Cast at SXSW last month, "Burma" is a compelling family drama and as it continues its festival circuit run, we've got a couple exclusive posters from the movie to share with you.

Given it was nearly twenty years ago when "Pulp Fiction" arrived and consequently turned the world upside down, it's very easy to forget what a massive seismic shift the movie represented, and how unique an individual Quentin Tarantino was in the cinema world at the time. From Sundance darling with "Reservoir Dogs" to Palme d'Or winner with "Pulp Fiction" in the span of two years, it was a leap that was nearly unprecedented, and it was a straight shot of adrenaline to the industry as a whole.

We know we've droned on and on about Ben Wheatley for the past forever, and certainly the man's neverending stream of projects always keeps us on the tip of our toes. But for most of you out there, the only exposure you've had to the filmmaker has likely been through "Down Terrace" or "Kill List," and while there has been much ink spilled over "Sightseers," it spent most of 2012 on the festival circuit. Well, it's finally coming to theaters in the U.S. and a new trailer is here promising something truly unique at the movies.

Elysium, Alice Braga
After its buzz-ridden San Diego Comic Con appearance last year was swiftly deflated by a release change from this past March to later this summer, “District 9” director Neill Blomkamp’s sophomore sci-fi effort “Elysium” was in dire need of a resurgence of interest. Well, consider that challenge met, as on the eve of their premiere trailer debut, Sony screened about 10 minutes of the film to press and fans, and the results were nothing short of spectacular.

Movies are a funny thing, sometimes developing through some oddball incarnations before finally firming up into something realistic. And so it goes for "Hands Of Stone," a boxing biopic that in 2010 had Gael Garcia Bernal and Al Pacino attached with Venezuelan helmer Jonathan Jakubowicz set to direct. That didn't happen, then last spring the movie cropped up again, only this time with the random assortment of R&B star Usher, "True Blood" dude Ryan Kwanten and Michelle Rodriguez, with Robert De Niro replacing Pacino. Well, part of that is still right.

Giving your summer movie viewing a requisite dose of literary authority, Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" is coming with an equal mix of high expectations, quiet rumbling about a troubled production, star power, a Cannes Film Festival opening slot, 3D, Jay-Z and whatever else you can add on the pile. It's a helluva basket of eggs. And if that weren't enough, the director is already hinting that the familiar story from the classic book by F. Scott Fitzgerald, could be in for a bit of tweaking.

At this point, you're either totally stoked to see Michael Bay's "Pain & Gain" or you're not, and if you're not, we're not sure what to tell you. Sure, Bay has spent pretty much the last decade making toy porn for man children, but "Pain & Gain" represents a return to his "low budget" roots (relatively speaking), and brings together a pretty crack cast for an outrageous tale that's based on a true story. What's not to like?

So, is Luke Evans on the cusp of breaking out on the big screen? Lord knows the actor has been paying his dues. From "Clash Of The Titans" to "Immortals" to "Robin Hood" to "The Three Musketeers," Evans has plenty of history in franchises...that never quite took off. But 2013 seems to be the year where he poised to break the spell. He'll play Bard The Bowman in "The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug," and next month he gets to bite into a juicy bad guy role in "Fast & Furious 6." And clearly, Universal like what they see.
