Does Michael Winterbottom ever stop working? In the 17 years since his debut "Butterfly Kiss," he's helmed twenty feature films, averaging more than one a year, and the director has several more in the works: he's wrapped on "King of Soho," with Steve Coogan, ambitious, multi-year project "Here and There" is nearing completion, and he's got Jack Black vehicle "Bailout" and Beatles flick "The Longest Cocktail Party" on the dance card as well. And his most recent picture isn't even in theaters yet.

Deadline reports that “The Hurt Locker” star is in talks to join the online gambling thriller written by “Rounders” duo Brian Koppelman and David Levien, and directed by “The Lincoln Lawyer” helmer Brad Furman.

Aw. Awwww. It seems that the international marketing team behind "The Amazing Spider-Man" know the way to our hearts. We've had a whole host of trailers for the superhero reboot (including a four-minute spot only a few days ago), which hits in July, and while there's some promise in them, none have quite convinced us yet that we won't be bored by sitting through another origin story, only a decade after Sam Raimi first took a spin at the material. That being said, we've like the in-context footage that we've seen, principally because of the film's leads, Andrew Garfield ("The Social Network"), who plays web-slinger Peter Parker, and Emma Stone ("Easy A"), who plays his love interest, Gwen Stacy.

After a divisive trailer that either tried covering the film’s mediocrity with a Rihanna soundtrack or illustrated a misguided attempt to package something more unconventional, Stephen Soderbergh’s film “Magic Mike” at least knows its main selling points well, namely its unbelievably fit leads Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey. And judging from their recent cover story on the film, which features its cast front and center unabashedly strutting their stuff, Entertainment Weekly is keenly aware as well.

It takes something a little special to come from outside cartoon giants Pixar and DreamWorks and make a splash in the race for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards. Pixar have won the prize six out of eleven years, and of the winners, only Hiyao Miyazaki's "Spirited Away," which picked up the gold in 2003, was produced outside the U.S. But make no mistake, French animator Sylvain Chomet is something a little special.

As Harvey Weinstein crawls on hands and knees up the Croisette, searching desperately for the next film to equal the success of last year’s golden child, “The Artist,” it can be hard to recall just how unique and singular the film seemed when first shown at Cannes, before its subsequent release and obnoxious awards season buzz. There is a difference between a kitchen sink drama and a drama that includes everything but the kitchen sink, and unfortunately for "Broken," it's more of the latter than the former. Marking the feature debut by theater director Rufus Norris and with Tim Roth, Cillian Murphy and Rory Kinnear among the ensemble, the is the kind of movie that mistakes adding a new plot twist every fifteen minutes for narrative momentum and drama.
