So, what would director Pascal Laugier do next after delivering the divisive and extreme "Martyrs" back in 2008? Well, you if thought he might try and top his last effort, or perhaps take on something with equal thematic weight, you might be mistaken, as he's taken a tentative step toward the mainstream with "The Tall Man" starring none other than Jessica Biel. A brand new international trailer and a couple of new posters have landed for the movie as it gears up to head into theaters.

It hit U.K. cinemas last summer and went on to become the third highest grossing film of the year in that territory, with a staggering $71 million take at the domestic box office (placing behind only “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part Two)” and “The King’s Speech” in 2011). It wasn’t a Hollywood blockbuster, but rather the big-screen spin-off of a smutty teen comedy, which had aired just 18 half-hour episodes on a niche British TV Channel, E4. “The Inbetweeners Movie” was a surprise success to say the least, and on September 7th it will be time to see whether U.S. audiences react as positively to the four lads who embark on a holiday filled with “sun, sea, sex, booze, sex, minge, fanny and tits...and booze...and sex.”

As regular readers already know, we'll pretty much watch anything with the talented Rebecca Hall, and while her choices can sometimes be spotty ("Lay The Favorite," "A Bag Of Hammers") she's always a worthwhile presence. And thus our interest in the period-horror piece "The Awakening," which on the face of it looks fairly standard but as the trailer reveals, promises to be something with a bit more meat on its bones.

Frankly, you could shoot Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn doing their taxes, then mowing the lawn and having a nap, and we'd probably watch it and love it. Those dudes crack us up ("Wedding Crashers" rules, "Starsky & Hutch" is pretty hilarious) so thank God for Shawn Levy (wow, never thought we'd type that out) for bringing them together again in "The Internship." And he's not skimping on the supporting cast either.

Bet you forgot all about this one. Don't worry, so did we. First announced just over a year ago, "The Two Faces Of January" has some very strong talent behind it. First off, it's got a script by "Drive" writer Hossein Amini, and second Viggo Mortensen -- who is pickier than a five-year-old at a salad bar -- signed on to star. And then? Nothing. Financing was needed. But it looks like things are starting to happen, as casting is gearing up again with a start date now in sight.

We're likely reaching something of a tipping point with the superhero movies. The first wave is ending: "X-Men" has already been reinvented, Superman is getting his second relaunch in a decade, "The Hulk" has already had its third iteration, and Christopher Nolan's Batman-trilogy, which more than anything else brought a new level of respectability to the genre, is coming to a close. We're entering the second phase of the modern superhero movie era, and it's leading to some interesting possibilities. So far, these films have essentially been a genre in and of themselves, but as new filmmakers inevitably try out fresh ideas within its confines, we're likely to see other styles brought into the mix.

Todlja? We guess? Even though we first reported Zoe Aggeliki was in the mix for the role of Johanna Mason in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" a week ago, with EW tossing Jena Malone as a contender in there a few days later, Deadline has buried their head in the sand a bit and dropped an exclusive that Aggeliki is now in talks. Okay, but we kind of knew that a while ago -- as of last week, she was apparently close to signing, and from what we hear she's 'Catching Fire' director Francis Lawrence's number one choice. But whatever, this moves the needle slightly more in her direction we guess. Either way, her Google ranking has likely gone way up in the past week.
