While all the talk over the last day or so at the mouse house has been about Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm and the revitalization of the "Star Wars" movie franchise, 'Episode VII' isnt' expected to hit until 2015. So until that happens, Disney will have to continue to make shareholders happy and exploit the brands they do have ready to go. "The Muppets" are gearing up for a return to the big screen, and the film has landed its first big name.

With stand out roles in "Magic Mike," "Killer Joe," "Bernie," "The Paperboy" and "Mud," Matthew McConaughey is having arguably the best year of his career in 2012. With Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf Of Wall Street" on deck and a meaty lead role in the intriguing drama "The Dallas Buyer's Club," 2013 should continue Mac's impressive reawakening. Joining him for the ride in the latter project is Jennifer Garner. She replaces Hilary Swank, who dropped out of the picture earlier this year.

After premiering at TIFF where it snagged the Audience Award, the buzz around David O. Russell's "Silver Linings Playbook" has perhaps dipped a little as the awards season conversation has turned to "Argo," but don't expect that to last for long. The picture opened the Savannah Film Festival over the weekend, Jessie J's (terrible) song for the film has hit the web, and with the movie now a few weeks away from hitting theaters, you can expect The Weinstein Company to turn up the heat.

Vince Vaughn wants to make an action movie. Correction: he really wants to make an action movie. The past little while has seen his name get attached to atypical material for the comic actor, including the thriller "The Risk Agent" and the Randall Wallace-penned "Gunslingers." And now his name has been linked to another action-oriented project.

As any reader of the site knows, we're big fans of Imogen Poots, and we'll just go ahead and say that she's the secret weapon of both the upcoming "A Late Quartet" and "Greetings From Tim Buckley," which premiered at TIFF last month. Her star is on the rise, as she's been seen rubbing elbows with Terrence Malick in "Knight Of Cups." And now she's landed her first bona fide blockbuster movie.

While cities like Toronto, Venice, Telluride, New York and London tend to get the most shine when it comes to the festival season, down in Georgia, the fifteen years young Savannah Film Festival is continuing to build into an enticing spot on the fall calendar. And this year they have rolled out an impressive list of screenings and guests. The Playlist spent the weekend at the still-ongoing festival, which opened with "Silver Linings Playbook" and was followed the next evening by "Flight," with star John Goodman and writer John Gatins in attendance. They were honored with the Outstanding Achievement in Cinema Award and Spotlight Award respectively prior to the highly buzzed screening, and afterward we sat down with each of them to quickly chat about the movie.

Here's a little bit of reality to dampen your excitement. Earlier this week it was reported that "Skyfall" screenwriter John Logan had been hired to write a lengthy James Bond story that would take place over the course of two films, "Bond 24" and "Bond 25" essentially. Considering it's never been done before and the idea would be ambitious for the Bond series, the appetites of many fans were whetted over the news.
