A Batch Of New Pics From Highly Anticipated Summer TV Shows 'Breaking Bad' & 'The Newsroom'

Over the past few weeks, we've had to say goodbye to a slew of our regular TV season favorites, and we've already listed our favorite 10 shows of 2011/2012. But there is still going to be some great stuff to watch over the next couple of months on the small screen. This summer sees the return of one the best shows going around as well as a new show from one of the platform's most talented writers. We're of course talking about "Breaking Bad" and Aaron Sorkin's "The Newsroom" -- both of which have a bunch of new pics to stoke the fires of anticipation.

Coming much sooner to our televisions, meanwhile, is Sorkin's "The Newsroom," which premieres this Sunday, June 24th. With a stellar ensemble cast led by Jeff Daniels, the show is in the same vein of Sorkin's previous small screen efforts ("The West Wing," "Sports Night") and follows the behind-the-scenes drama. Only this time, he's chosen a 24 hour news network as his setting.

The show centers on news anchor Will McAvoy (Daniels), who faces a major change when his co-anchor bails for another program and takes most of the staff with him. Sparks are expected to fly with the pressure on him to carry the show and deliver ratings, while trying to get along with the staff. Emily Mortimer, Alison Pill, Dev Patel, John Gallagher, Jr., Olivia Munn, Thomas Sadoski, Jane Fonda and Sam Waterston co-star with "Superbad" and "Adventureland" director Greg Mottola helming the pilot and at least two other episodes. Here are plenty of new looks from the show. [Collider]
